Wine Ratings
When it comes to wine ratings, one of the most misleading for wine drinkers is the “Vintage Rating”. Yes there are good, weak, great, mediocre vintages for every vintner on earth. However, it is impossible to accurately generalize about the quality of wines from an entire region for a given growing season. For example, In Burgundy there is so much focus on Climat and terroir and micro-climates, how can one rate the quality of a year when there is so much variation in terrain and weather and aspect and soil and on and on? I would argue you can’t. Therefore, as with all ratings, take Vintage Ratings with a grain of salt and sit back and drink that lovely 02 burg in the short term.
