Tasting Notes
2002 Powerfully rich, smooth and concentrated with aromas of blueberry and cassis, the fruit core is wrapped in complex vanilla, coffee, caramel, tobacco, and spice box nuances. The pure, dense fruit is accented with pretty violet, anise, and toasty oak notes while the supply sweet tannins endow the wine with voluptuous texture, all finishing in a long alluring aftertaste. 211 cases produced $70
2003 Gracefully concentrated and rich with aromas of lush raspberry and cassis, the opulent fruit is accented in complex mocha, mint, white pepper, black licorice and loamy earth nuance. In the mouth the fruit is shaded with jasmine flower and pain grille with ripe, fine-grained tannins on the finish. 442 cases produced. $70
2004 Dark, concentrated and rich, the deep red color is accented with vibrant purple hues. Seductive blueberry, cassis, warm morello cherry and raspberry fruits in the nose lead to deeply nuanced chocolate, bergamot orange, sage and cedary oak tones. The aroma is shaded with a violet floral note and smoky barrique. In the mouth the well-integrated tannins give an incredible, generous, velvety, mouth-coating texture with tremendous length and freshness. 313 Cases produced. $70
2005 Concentrated deep red color with orange hue on the rim. Wonderful red and black fruits; currant, strawberry, and cherry are accented with earthy nuance of cedar, No2 pencil, tar and truffle. The aroma is shaded with the signature violet floral and star anise note. Further complexities of cocoa, white- pepper, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and cola pour forth as the wine opens. In the mouth the well-endowed tannins give superb dense structure. 404 Cases produced. $70
2006 Dark, brawny and youthful with intense blue & black fruit wrapped tightly in spicy warm oak with vanilla and cedar dominating. Incredible mouth-coating tannin with forceful grip and fullness. Structured and big with a long cellar life ahead. 532 cased produced. Not-Yet-Released.
