Be smarter than orange croc's

Some wines, like many other things, become fads the way that croc’s sandals exploded after Chef Mario Batali wore his orange pair on Food TV. The problem with fads is that the popularity of an item isn’t about the actual merit of an item, but about being a part of the buzz around it. When applying the same to a wine choice, wine drinkers often forget to trust their own palate or to even question whether they like a wine that has buzz. The wine community would be better off if wine drinkers were encouraged and educated to evaluate wines for their own tastes.
